Interhelp Newsletter, Fall 2009
Dear Interhelpers and Friends,
The beauties of autumn are upon us. What a blessed time of year. This
weekend I am alternating putting the garden to bed for the winter
with preparations for next month's annual Interhelp Gathering.
If you've participated in Gatherings before, come back again and
help us cocreate this year's unique community. If you haven't
attended before, we invite and welcome your presence.
The Gathering, held at Woolman Hill in Deerfield, MA, begins at
suppertime on Friday, November 13 and finishes up after lunch on
Sunday. During the day on Saturday we will create a profound and
simple ritual known as the Council of All Beings. On Saturday evening
we will relax and play together.
Scholarship help is available. For complete information and
registration form, please go to www.interhelpnetwork.org.
You are also invited to a Work that Reconnects workshop on October 31
in Brookline, MA called For the Earth. Led by Joyce Reeves and Diane
Reiner, it will take place at First Parish on Walnut Street from 9:30
until 4:30. For more info, contact Joyce at 2rejoyce@earthlink.net.
Feel free to send me an email message if you have questions about
Gathering. Submissions to this newsletter are always welcome.
Deadline for the next issue is December 30. I'd love to hear from you!
Blessings to all,
Paula Hendrick

Here's something to check out: an evolving Handbook of Sustainable
Literacy, available online at
http://www.sustainability-literacy.org/multimedia.html.
As usual, Joanna Macy's latest letter (dated August 24) on her
website ( www.joannamacy.net ) is packed with interesting reading.
She describes exercises that evolved during an intensive earlier in
the summer in CA. Joanna also includes quotations from A Year with
Rilke, her latest collaboration with Anita Barrows, release date
November 17. Take note, holiday shoppers!
